I drove afternoon carpool Wednesday afternoon.  It was a beautiful day in Vail.  The sun was out, the sky was blue, and it was warm.

It was about 20 minutes before the kids would be dismissed when I got there and I had brought a book to enjoy.  Puck was enjoying playing with his cars in the warm sun.

Unrelated side note:  This is Blue Ocean.  Do your kids name their cars?  This is Puck's very favorite car and he carries it around like a lovie.

I saw Scamp's class come out of the building about five minutes later.  His teacher was carrying a large mesh container.  We decided to follow them to the field.  They were letting their long-awaited butterflies go, and we were there to witness it!

Sorry for the extreme blur, I wanted to protect those other kids.  Scamp is the one with his shoe lace untied...naturally!
The other 1st grade class was there with their butterflies as well.

Out they came, one by one.

Lovely Painted Ladies.
