A Snowday and a Giveaway!

It's snowing today!  So much so that our school was canceled!  Traditionally, the day before Thanksgiving is a half-day, with a special breakfast for the entire student body, staff and alumni (those who can come in), and the day ends at noon with an assembly.  Needless to say, my kids were completely bummed it was all canceled!  Adam was already on his way in when the call came, so it's just been the kids and I this morning.

They were up at 6am (actually, Sprite the Insomniac, was up at 5:45, sheeze), so it's been a morning full of crafts, games, play and now they're on the Wii.  Oh, and did I mention the fighting that has sprinkled our fun?  Yeah, my patience is being tested!

And it's only 10:00am.

We also made a big breakfast to make up for their loss of the school breakfast.

We decorated using Scamp's turkey he made in Kindergarten.

There is much talk this time of year about traditions.  One of my favorite books is Treasuring God in our Traditions by Noel Piper.  I went hunting for my copy a few weeks ago and absolutely could not find it--how frustrating!  I remember having it this time last year, but since we weren't moved in here yet, it's very possible I lost it in the move.

So I ordered another copy along with an extra copy because I want one of you all to have a copy of your own!  Or you can give it away to a friend or sister or aunt or....you get the idea.  Do what you want with it!

This chapter really challenged my thinking about kids and church.

In order to enter, just leave a comment saying what your plans are for Thanksgiving.  Easy enough!  I know Thanksgiving is tomorrow and all, so if your a good girl (or boy, don't want to leave anyone out) and are staying off your computer for the holiday weekend (which I will be doing as soon as this post is up!) I'll leave comments open till Monday night.  (Then I'll have to figure out that random.org thingy.  Wish me luck!)

Until then, Happy Thanksgiving!!
